Navigating BASH

The navigational files on this DVD are in HTML format. It is highly recommended that you use a current version of a browser to view these HTML files, as older browser versions may not display everything correctly.

The manuals on this DVD are in Adobe Acrobat PDF format. To view the newest manuals it is necessary that you use Adobe Acrobat Reader version 7 or higher. The Acrobat Reader is available from Adobe Systems Incorporated (http://www.adobe.com).

To assist you in finding the various manuals on this DVD, there are several tools available:

  • The menu tree to the left of each page and the Contents menu in the above Menubar allow quick access to the main systems and components on the DVD.

  • The Systems Overview page offers a quick overview with links to the main spectrometer systems.

  • The List of Manuals is a page containing a complete list of manuals available on this DVD, including hyperlinks to a PDF version of each document. This tool is useful for the user who is familiar with the various systems or components and wants to quickly find a related manual.

The various system and component pages have been designed to present the relevant manuals available for each of the specified systems or component(s) found on each page. In many cases the components may be available for more than one system, so links to the corresponding manuals may be found on various pages. Where possible, photographs of the system/components have also been included. Please note that individual customer configurations may vary. Likewise, Bruker is continuously improving products, so the photograph may not reflect your configuration.

Keyword Searches Using Adobe Acrobat Index Search

A full-text index has been created whereas you can search that index rather than running a full-text search of each individual PDF in the catalog. An index search produces a results list with links to the occurrences of the indexed documents.

Note: To search a PDF index, you must open Acrobat as a stand-alone application, not within your web browser.

In Mac OS, indexes created with some older versions of Acrobat are not compatible with the Acrobat XI Search feature. If you have upgraded recently, update the index before using Acrobat XI to search.

  1. Choose Edit > Advanced Search.

  2. Type the search text, and then click Show More Options, near the bottom of the Search window.

  3. For Look In, choose Select Index.

  4. Select bashcd.pdx from the list, or click Add and add bashcd.pdx.

  5. Click OK to close the Index Selection dialog box, and then choose Currently Selected Indexes from the Look In menu.

  6. Proceed with your search as usual.

Note: Selecting the Match Whole Word Only option when searching indexes significantly reduces the time taken to return results.

Note: These instructions are for use with ADOBE ACROBAT READER version X or higher, earlier versions may have slight variations. Refer to the Adobe Reader Help for questions on searching using an index.
